Fundraiser for Our Heroes
Oyama Zipline Adventure Park is hosting Wounded Warriors Day, a family-friendly fundraising event to support Wounded Warriors Canada on May 28th in Oyama, B.C.
Families can tour emergency vehicles, meet veterans, enjoy adventure park activities, enjoy BBQ lunch, and take part in the festive atmosphere with various vendors in this lake view park setting.
The event itself is free and all Adventure Activities in the park are discounted at 25% off. There will be face painting, 50/50 draws, raffle prizes and more. Informational booths and vendors include Lake Country Ambulance Services, Canadian Blood Services, Lake Country Health Society and more. Plus the Oyama Fire Department will be barbecuing hamburgers and hotdogs – they make the best! Starbucks will provide coffee (by donation) for parents able to come up the hill in the morning. The event is 9am to 4pm and there is a free play space for children.
Wounded Warriors Canada (WWC) is a national mental health service provider. WWC's focus is on providing services for our military personnel, veterans and first responders who have developed an Operational Stress
Injury (OSI), such as PTSD, as a result of the work that they do to serve and protect us. WWC also provides services for the families to help them understand and cope with their partner or parent who has developed an OSI.
All proceeds from park activities on Wounded Warrior Day will be donated by Oyama Zipline Adventure Park through Garry McCracken (a veteran and Lake Country resident) to WWC to support their work. Garry will be participating in the Battlefield Bike Ride in France and Belgium June 2022, a major fundraising event for WWC. His ride will follow the path of the Canadian Corps during the last 100 days of World War 1.
Come see us and contribute to the care of our heroes, take in the views of Kalamalka Lake, expand your knowledge of first responders' roles, and enjoy the forest park and the festivities 9am - 4pm, May 28th.
Remember, for this event you get 25% off and proceeds will be donated to Wounded Warriors Canada. Book any activity below at discount (book online below and discount is already applied) or call to book and quote WWCFUN. Advanced reservations for zip lining, aerial trekking and kids play park are highly recommended. See you soon and thank you for Supporting the Wounded Warriors!
